The central question
Half a century ago Linus Pauling could describe the human body as a self-repairing system and admit that why it still declines remained a mystery. Since then the parts have been described in extraordinary detail — the hallmarks of aging, the epigenetic clocks, the cellular mechanisms — and the question is still open.
Live Long to Live Forever approaches it the way a systems scientist would: not as damage accumulating in isolated parts, but as a system gradually losing the coordination between its layers. The book distinguishes throughout between established science, emerging evidence and the author's own synthesis — and it treats its title as a question about the limits of human life, not a promise about them.

My interest in the limits of human potential began long before I entered academia. By thirteen or fourteen I was reading the texts of the contemplative traditions and asking what a human being is actually capable of. But I was never satisfied with belief. I wanted mechanisms, not stories.
For eight years I have led an institute working at the intersection of traditional systems of health and contemporary, measurement-based practice. What I saw there, year after year, was people doing everything right — the right diet, the right supplements, the right protocols — and still meeting a decline they could not explain. The plateau. The fatigue. The biomarkers that move but never converge.
The question I could not let go of was simple: our cells renew continuously — so why does the body age? No single discipline had the answer. This book is my attempt to build the shared language, and the map that emerges from it. It begins with the proposition that the extraordinary capacities attributed to the great masters should neither be dismissed blindly nor accepted uncritically. They should be investigated. Because the most important question is not whether we understand the limits of the human organism. It is whether those limits are truly fixed.
